Dreams Do Come True: Wedding Edition

In the event business, even with the added benefit of hindsight, we rarely utter the words  “that was perfect.” Well, not to brag too much, but… *ahem*…

That wedding was perfect. It was a dream come true, for the bride and groom, the mother of the bride, the bridal party. And for us, the day of wedding coordinators at Flynn and Bailey Events.

We were recently hired by a client to provide day of coordination and support for the bride, groom and their respective family members.  We are honored to be a part of any celebration, but we are especially honored when we are asked to assist with the details of one of the most meaningful and intimate moments of a client’s life as they begin their journey together as a married couple.

How do we make dreams come true?  It all comes down to the details. For this particular event the details were all in assembly of the wedding day dream team, doing our homework, and a few additional strokes of luck (like picture perfect weather).  A key component of success (i.e. homework before the big day) that we rely on at Flynn and Bailey is the process of getting acquainted with the bride and groom before their wedding day. This allows us to understand the couple’s preferences and visions for the big day.   We take our time to discuss details in advance, outline expectations and get to know the couple before the the big day. We have found that these steps are crucial for smooth day of event coordination because it helps us to anticipate challenges and provide personalized day of support.

How do you assemble the dream team?  We tell our brides to trust their intuition and gut instinct when hiring vendors. We work together with clients to find vendors, like photographers, florists, entertainment, that are a good fit for the venue, client and event.  We take dream team assembly one step further and advise our clients to stay true to yourself and to honor their own ideas and instincts. A client knows when they mesh or clash with someone else’s personality. Our advice: only hire vendors you like and think you can work well with, and trust us, if we foresee a potential conflict we will not hesitate to voice our concerns.

Did you find a particular vendor you absolutely love?  Don’t be afraid to ask them for additional recommendations.  Sometimes the dream team is composed of vendors that have a successful working history.

If you are in the midst of wedding planning and are beginning to feel overwhelmed, don’t despair.  Contact us. We can help bring your wedding dreams to life.
